Accreditation

Washington International Academy has been nationally accredited since April, 2015. At that time evaluators from AdvancED (now Cognia), an accrediting organization that conducts rigorous on-site visits of PreK-12 schools and school systems, awarded WIA a five year accreditation based on national standards. 

Some powerful practices from the review highlighted a high level of commitment to the school's mission for excellence in education and spiritual development, as well as student community service opportunities and project completion.

WIA’s re-accreditation review under Cognia took place in May, 2021. Our national accreditation remains in place until 2026. We are also recognized as an accredited school by the Virginia Council of Private Education (VCPE). WIA’s administration and faculty remain engaged in the process of continuous improvement as we strive to reach the highest standards of excellence for our students.
